Adobe Illustrator/detailed jpeg- gradient separation

Question
Hey,
I have a project on my hands- and i do NOT want to let go of it! The only problem is, that the design selected for printing, is a photograph i.e. a jpeg. The image has to be printed on a deodorant bottle. The manufacturers of the deodorant do not have the high tech equipment yet which can print photographs, hence they say that we have to separate the gradient shades into minuscule circles of spot colors descending in size, hence fooling the eye to perceive it as a gradient.
Is there any short cut or some software that can automatically generate the desired result?
i have the latest macbook pro, as well as a windows desktop, 2gb ram, ample space in C drive.

Answer
Hi Fizz,

Create your first circle, then you can use the Transform effect with a step and repeat to reduce the size incrementally smaller. There is no way to automatically create this in Illustrator. But this will get you darn close.

Thanks

Kevin

PS - Macbook's dont have a C drive. PCs do. Just kidding! : )
