Adobe Illustrator/Adobe Illustrator Stuck

Question
When I open Illustrator it starts initializing and gets stuck and will not open. My operating system is version 10.6.6 with 4G RAM and Adobe Illustrator CS4.

Hi Rachel,

Does it happen to get stuck when it is loading fonts? Do you happen to know how many fonts you have installed in your system or are you currently using a font management software package?

Normally that is the culprit. If not, let me know the answers to the questions I asked and then I can suggest some possible solutions.
