Adobe Illustrator/Precision Placement

Question
Hi Kevin, I am using Illustrator CS5. When fonts are selected, the bounding box is not centered to the text. This makes precision placement using data entry via the control bar at the top of the desktop problematic. Is there a way to have Illustrator display text as it does when it is converted to outlines, but still remain editable text?

Answer
Hi Don,

It could be the font you are choosing. Some fonts have a larger bounding area than just the font itself. There is no way to display this differently as converted text and still have it editable. Have you tried using a different font? Is it the same with all fonts - such as Helvetica?

Thanks

Kevin
