Adobe Illustrator/locked objects CS4

Question
Hello.
Thanks for your time in looking at this...i truly appreciate it.

MAC
ILLUSTRATOR CS4
4GB RAM
120 GB OF FREE HARD DISK SPACE
FILE SIZE IS 29.6GB

i have an illustrator file (cs4) that seems to have locked all objects once opened.
Once opened, the file ( i have been working on a complex illustration for a about a year and has many objects / shapes ) has a weird feint grey all over it and all objects are now locked ( apart from one )...the option to unlock is disabled too.

do you have any suggestions at all?

Many thanks!

Answer
Hi David,

You have entered "Isolation Mode". This is a mode that allows you to isolate parts of your illustration and leave other parts locked and unaffected. Look at the top right of your document window, you should see a path along with an arrow. You can either click this arrow to back out one step at a time, or hit escape to exit Isolation Mode.

Thanks

Kevin
