Adobe Illustrator/cant work on anillustrator file after saving it as a png

Question
Hi,,
I recently done a design in illustrator and saved it as a PNG and the original illustrator file seems effected and I cant work on it ;like it is locked or something. It is very important that I figure it out because I need to adjust the image and then send it off. I hope you can help me...

HI Angela,
Did you only save this as a PNG? If so, you cannot edit a PNG in Illustrator, it is a flattened rasterized file and you've lost the ability to edit it.
However, if you did save a copy as an AI file, you should be able to still edit that. Try quitting and restarting your computer and reopening the AI file.
