HELP!!
I'm in the midst of a Logo Project and am stuck with an AI issue.  I need to transfer some objects (vectorized word-copy) from one AI document to another document.  I find I can do it with Copy/Paste (and have adjusted my Clipboard Preferences to AICB), but every time, it come out in a form which has no stroke and fill.  This is friggin nerve-wracking!!  Tried dragging and "Place" too:  Same result.  THANKS.

Answer
Hi Doc,

Sorry your original question did not come to me. The easiest way I can help you is to verify what is going on. First, in the original document, select one of the items you are copying with the selection tool. Then go to the appearances panel and note what the appearance (stroke ands fill) says. Next, go to the layers panel and go to the pull-down menu and make sure "paste remembers layers" is checked in the list. Then copy and paste just the part you selected into a new document (not the one you have been using) and then the doc you were using for the paste and check the appearance panel in both docs to see what it says. Let me know and I can narrow this down from there.

Thanks
