Question
Gray Edges
Gray Edges
Hello Mr. Stohlmeyer,
I have a problem with the edges of colored objects and fonts showing up as horrid gray outline while over a black background. I am using Illustrator CS5 on a Macbook Pro. This happens in both RGB and CMYK color modes. Even after exporting in both jpg and png modes, the edges don't go away. I have attached a screenshot from the program. Thanks in advance. :)

Answer
Hi Charles,

I have a feeling it is your monitor. Check your resolution and change it to the highest setting and then review your images. Setting your screen to a different resolution that is not compatible with the monitor can cause "ghosting" or gray edges to appear in just about everything.

Your screenshot looks perfect on my end.
