QuestionAI ME over Mac OS keeps shutting down with no apparent reason and all the unsaved work goes to waste? please is there a reason for this to happen can i do anything about it, thanks
AnswerHi Amer,
First, try fixing the preferences file:
1 - Quit Illustrator.
2 - Drag the Adobe Illustrator Settings folder from the Users/local/Library/Preferences folder to the trash.
3 - Restart Illustrator.
4 - If the problem still happens, you can quit AI and drag the folder back to its original location, overwriting the new folder that was created when you launched AI.
You might also check at Adobe.com and make sure you are working with the latest version update for your version.
Then I would like to point you to this LONG article at Adobe that helps troubleshoot that error. Some of it may apply to you... but there is a lot to read.

Does it crash when you try to save? print? type?
There is also a known conflict with Norton Utilities that may be a factor. Also, some people report problems with certain print spoolers. If it crashes when you try to type, the problem may be a corrupt font. Read that article at adobe (above link)- it describes how to refresh Adobe's font cache.
The forums at adobe.com are full of reports of sudden crashes - you may be able to find someone else with an answer for your exact numerical version and language version.
Good luck!
