Question
Hi Amy thanks for the prompt reply,

I have created the Logo in AICS2 and I am now wanting to incorporate the logo into an AICS2 leaflet design.

When I use the copy and paste option it copy and pastes the  logo  artboard onto the leaflet design.

I figure I need to save the logo and then reintroduce it to AICS2...should I therefore open and save the logo in Photoshop and then reintroduce it to AI ?  I was concerned that doing so may lose quality?

Thanks again for any help

Regards

Andy

Question -
Hi,

I cannot believe I am unable to do something that should be so simple.

I have created a logo in CS2 which I am happy with.   However the background page (which is white) is an A4 size and I only want to select and save the actual logo...I cannot find a crop function to enable me to crop and save just the image.

Please help.

Hi Andy,

If there is a white colored object behind the logo, you will need to delete it. If you are only talking about the artboard (page), then don't worry.

That "white background" is the artboard. It is only present when you open the document in Illustrator.

If you place the logo into another application, the background will not be there. If you open the document in PhotoShop, it will not be there - the background will be transparent. If you open the document in Acrobat, the PAPER page size will determine the background size.

Sometimes I go into page setup and change my artboard size to better suit the artwork. You can type any numbers you want. For example, if the logo is 3 x 3, I give it a 4 x 4 artboard and custom paper page size for a nicer presentation in Acrobat.

If you need any more help or have more questions about this, just ask

Answer
HI again,

I don't think this is what's really happening. Artboards can't be selected or copied.

I'd like to take a peek at the file.

I use V.9 so please save as legacy version 9, embed your fonts, and mail to me at AmyLynPace@yahoo.com

I will tell you what's up with the logo - maybe I can even fix it for you.
