Question
Hi,
We need Arabic support (ability to display and connect arabic and other language characters together) even notepad supports this, is Adobe plan to have this in future versions of their products or is there an  Add-on we can use?
thanks,
Bramoin

Answer
Hi Bramoin,

Unfortunately, you must have the Middle Eastern Language version of Adobe Creative Suite to be able to design using Arabic languages, provided you have the fonts and the Windows Regional keyboard settings chosen (Windows users). The company that actually makes the ME versions of the software is www.winsoft.fr

I don't work for Adobe and I am not affiliated with Adobe so I don't know if a global version of the software is in the works for their next release. You should direct your feature request to them - there's a forum at adobe.com

I don't believe there are any plug-ins for the English version that would give you functionality you need to fully use Arabic characters.

For very small amounts of text, like a headline or title or logo, you can convert your fonts to outlines then flip/reflect each letter individually.

Good luck!

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
