Illustrator CS2 - PC.
Hi Amy,
I've just installed the aforementioned program, yet cannot save any files as .eps. Furthermore, I cannot export (legacy save)any files as .eps as that particular option is not available (as it was in Illustrator 10).

I have files that need to go to print! Help me please!

Hi Mohamad,

There are some known bugs with CS2 - some are similar to what you're describing but not exactly. You're telling me you can't even SEE the EPS options when you go to save, correct?

Adobe does suggest (or rather Adobe users suggest) that having LINKED PSD files in your document may prevent an EPS save...  but I don't think you're talking about that. In your case, even a brand new blank doc can't be saved as EPS.

To me, it sounds like your filters/file formats aren't being recognized. Try re-targeting your plug-ins folder in Preferences > Plug-Ins & Scratch Disks. Note: I technically don't troubleshoot CS2 because I don't own that version but I think the above advice still holds true.

Also, try Quitting AI, deleting the AIprefs file and launching Illustrator again and see if that works.

If that doesn't work, Adobe recommends trying a re-install of the program in Safe Mode, if necessary.  If you search the Knowledgebase at Adobe.com, you'll find those instructions.
