Question
I am working in CS2 and in previous versions I could double click on a placed photoshop image and the photoshop file would open. I would then edit the file and go back to illustrator and the changes would be made without me having to replace the image. I loved this feature and can't figure out how to do it now.

Answer
Hi Patti,

I have to research that one a little to see if they axed that feature. I'm on a PC - maybe the other Expert, who uses a Mac, would know more about this topic). But I will look around and get back to you.

Try making sure that PhotoShop is not running already  when clicking on an embedded image. Sometimes that muddies things up... can't run two copies of PhotoShop and can't figure out it's already running.

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
