Question
Hello Amy, I'm having a problem with trying to use elements of previous art
created in CS2, and reducing the size in CS3. When I do many of the strokes
remain at the size of the large art instead of reducing proportionately, forcing
me to practically redraw many things I never had to before. Inever had this
problem with CS2.

Answer
hi brian,

You probably experienced it but maybe never realized it.

The way it works in CS2 (and I assume CS3) is that it uses the proportional stroke settings you have chosen for the scale tool (S) both when using the scale tool to reduce/enlarge objects AND when using the bounding boxes to transform objects by clicking and dragging.

So double click the scale tool and make sure that the
"Scale Strokes and Effects" option is checked.

After doing that, anything you scale manually should adhere to those settings. Your stroke weight will scale proportionally.
