Expert: Amy - 10/25/2007

Question
I was working in illustrator 10 when my character tab disappeared. This has not happened before. I went to bring it back from the "window" tab but according to that it was already there. Then i tried Ctrl+T but that did not work either. It has not gone off the screen or out of view and it is not under any other tabs. Any other idea apart from a re-install

Hi Tom,

You just need to reset the preferences.

1 - QUIT AI
2 - Locate the "AIprefs" file on your machine and delete it.
   If you are on a PC, remember to search in Hidden Files and Folders when you do your search for the file.
3 - Restart AI

That's all there is to it!
