Adobe Illustrator/Colour printing problems
Expert: Tom Rouze - 1/7/2007
QuestionI'm having difficulties with my printer (Canon iX5000) and Adobe Illustrator /
Photoshop. It seems that some colour settings have gone wrong and now
when somethings clearly looks black on screen it prints out grey. No where
near black. I solved the issue temporarily by exporting illustrator work as a
jpeg and printing from photoshop which worked for a while. Then I tried to
compare colour settings between the programs and in my best attempt to
solve the situation I made things worse now both programs print out this
way. No doubt the other colours are affected too but most noticably the black
because its ridiculously grey. I'm using the printer mentioned before, I'm on
OSX 10.4.8 using CS1 and printing on regular 80gm inkjet paper. When I
print from something like Word. The text comes out perfect black. Please
help! It caused havoc on a project and I need to fix it! Many thanks
AnswerHi Victoria,
Try going to you're print dialog box and select the default setting for your printer.
I had a similar problem with some files. I found that there was an effect applied to grouped objects. So you you could try select all and ungroup or unlock all. It may help. It's hard to diagnose a problem like this without a little more history but try those things first.
Hope this helped.
Thank you,
Tom
