Adobe Illustrator/Dropped objects when exporting as JPG

Question
I have Illustrator CS2 v12.0.1 and periodically when I export a saved file (EPS or AI) as JPG it will drop something in the file (block of text, placed object, etc.). When I do "Print Preview" with the EPS/AI file the object does not show as well.
What am I doing?
Thanks,
James

Answer
HI there James.

My first thought is that the object is set to overprint. That exact thing happened to me recently.

Other than that, I would be happy to look at the file for you.

Please send it to me at AmyLynPace@yahoo.com and I will take a look at it tomorrow (Weds).

Or, if you would like me to look at it tonight, you will need to save it down to AI 9.0 compatibility since that's the only version I have handy.

Look forward to helping you,
Amy

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

Experience

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
