Question
QUESTION: I am attempting to print a file created in Illustrator and then placed into Photoshop, however when I try to print it from photoshop, it prints in a very corrupted manner and will not stop printing until the printer itself is manually reset.  However, bringing back the document to Illustrator (even after having made changes to it in photoshop) allows it to print just fine.  Can you help?

ANSWER: What method are you using to place it into PhotoShop?
For example, are you opening it in PhotoShop and parsing it?
Are you trying to copy and paste as Paths?
Are you printing to a PostScript printer?

QUESTION: Using the "Place" option under the "File" menu.  The printer is a Ricoh Aficio CL7300.  The OS is Mac OS X.  Even copying and pasting the opened files graphics into a new photoshop document will not allow it to print.  If you need more info please feel free to ask.

Answer
Hi Benjamin.

It sounds like a printer issue to me. It's not handling the document's content properly... it's spitting out pages of postscript.

First, check the driver settings. Are you using the latest driver? I'm thinking PS Level 3 error????

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.
