Question
I need to convert tables of numbers with fractions that have been imported into Illustrator from Excel into formatted fractions. (with the numerator above the denominator, not number side by side like this - 7/16)
I know how to do this with open type fonts, but the problem is that I am also dealing with whole numbers
(3 7/16 for example). When I create a character style, it turns the whole numbers into numerators.  Since I have hundreds of numbers and pages, I can't do each fraction individually. Is there any way to do this? Thanks

Sounds like an old Amy problem. What I mean is that I used to work designing journal articles for lab results and fractions was an issue.

I don't think that downloading a fractions font is a global answer, as those fonts usually only contain standard fractions. But maybe that's all you've got? Google free fractions font and you may find one for your platform.

But I *think* that editing those tables in WORD first might be an answer. Word has an autocorrect for standard fractions but you'd need to create a macro to convert odd fractions like 12/35 into an over/under fraction with horizontal bar. I could probably work on that for you.

Can you send me the Illy or Excel file and I'll see what I can come up with for you?
