Question
Hi Amy,
Thanks again for your assistance. As stated, I'v now installed Illustrator CS, instead of CS2. Problem? On this PC, it won't recognise the .eps files on my desktop, nor does it recognise the program when i right click to 'open with' and then use the browse option. Any ideas?

Looking forward to your reply!

Cheers!

Mohamad

Answer
Hi Mohamad,

You need to re-associate the EPS file type with Illustrator by using the right click and browse option, like you've been trying to do.

But I'd like to make sure that you're browsing to the correct location and not to a Shortcut of the app... that location would be somewhere like
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Illustrator CS

Or maybe your Illustrator.exe file isn't where you think it is? Why don't you do a search for it on your machine and find out where it is. If it *is* there and browse really can't see it, I'll have to figure out why.

If this method doesn't work, you can go to Start > Control Panels > Folder Options > File Types tab and add a new extension and association there. But you still need to browse to the exe file's correct location.

Let me know

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.
