QuestionSubject Illustrator installation
Question Hi Amy,
I know this is dumb but when I insert the installation disk for
Illustrator, the installation does not automatically start up. WHen
I
click on the disk there is an illustrator file, but it contains
nothing I
can open to actually get the installation process started. What do
I
do?
Answer Hi Jackie,
Not dumb. It happens. But I need to know if you're on a Mac or
PC and what version you're installing.
Generally, on a PC, you go to My Computer and then Double
Click on the CD. It should "play."
Please let me know those two things and I can help a little more!

Copy the installer files from the CD to the hard disk, and then install Illustrator:
To install Illustrator from the hard disk using the Illustrator CD:
1. Insert the installer CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Double-click the CD.
3. Locate the Adobe Illustrator CS2 folder and copy it to the hard disk.
4. Restart the computer while holding down the Shift key to prevent startup items from opening.
5. Open the Adobe Illustrator folder you copied to the hard disk, and double-click the Adobe Illustrator CS2.pkg file.
From there, follow the on-screen instructions to install Illustrator.
