Adobe Illustrator/Inner Glow

QuestionI am creating a wine glass from step by step tutorial from About.com and I am stumped as to fill it with white, which I think it is already because it is white. Next use the direct select tool to select the glass top. Remove the stroke. Don't de-select or you won't be able to see it. Go to Effect > Stylize > Inner Glow, and chose Multiply Mode, Opacity 75%, and Blur 7. Click the Edge button, and then click the color swatch to open the color picker. Type EEEEEE in the hex color box and click OK to set the Inner Glow color to a light gray. When I go to Effect Stylize the Inner Glow is greyed out, what am I doing wrong. Thank you so much. Sorry for this email being so long.
AnswerHi Maria.
Hmmm... I am doing that same tutorial right now and can't find anything obvious. Please send your document to me at AmyLynPace@yahoo.com and I'll take a look at it. But you need to export legacy version 9 for me, since I use v.9.
As far as your comment..."I am stumped as to fill it with white, which I think it is already because it is white."
Select the object you think is filled with white and look at the Fill and Stroke boxes near the bottom of the tool palette window. If there's a red line through the fill box, then the object is not filled with anything. You need to fill it with white.
But that still wouldn't make the effects not work. Are you sure you are selecting the correct object when you go to Effects?
Looking forward to your file!
