Adobe Illustrator/Insufficient memory when exporting to JPG file

Question
I have an Illustrator Artwork-file size 70cmx100cm in RGB color.
When I try to export it to a JPG file at 1200dpi I get an errormessage stating I have insufficent memory to complete the task. I have 10Gb of free diskspace en 1Gb RAM installed. It is possible to export the file at al much lower dpi so the message is dpi related.
What can I do to create the JPG file at 1200 dpi?
Thanks for your time and help.
With regards,

Roy.

Answer
Hi Roy,
I assume your working with a color image.  I'm not sure why the 1200 dpi but the easiest answer I have for you is bring the file into Photoshop and change the resolution or size there.  You'll retain the dimensions but the file size will be much smaller.  I'm not sure what you need the high res file for but if its for a printer you can get away with a much lower dpi.  Typically the only time you need 1200 dpi files is if you are ripping to a high end output device for negatives and it's line art.  Otherwise the doupbe or triple rule applies - when using halftone screen of 200 lpi output your file at 400 -600 dpi.  More often than not double the line screen works fine.
Hope this helped.
Thank you,

Tom
