Question
How do I print business cards from illustrator? I am using the single template and I want to print it on 11x17 with multiple rows etc from that one card? I know I can do it in simpler programs like ms publisher etc. but how do I go about it in illustrator?

Answer
Hello Justice!

This must be done manually by copying and pasting. You can use Illustator's Move command with the "Copy" option to help you do this quickly and accurately.

Place your card in the upper left corner of the page. Select everything in the card and group it.

Then simply hit the RETURN key.
Enter 3.5" in the horizontal field, leave the vertical field blank and hit COPY. Repeat til you have one full row.

Now select the entire row. Hit the RETURN key.
Enter -2.0" (negative 2.0") in the vertical field and nothing in the horizontal field and hit COPY.

Repeat til the page is filled with cards!

Hope this helps!

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.
