I have Illustrator 10 - clicking on Window - Transparency (or Shift + F10) doesn't open a transparency palette for me. Trying to add transparency to a gradient. Thanks for your help!

Hi Gabe,

I think you need to toss your prefs.

Quit Illustrator
Locate and throw away AIPrefs file.
Restart Illustrator.

Let me know if this didn't work.  I can't think of anything else that could be doing that, unless it's hidden under something else.  Most likely, it went "off the screen" and can't come back.  Happens to me now and then.  Tossing prefs fixes it.
