Adobe Illustrator/Printing text problem

Question
Hi Amy, Using illustrator 8.0. I have a file with vector images and text. The text in one of the text boxes doesn't print out, but all of the other text prints out. This is what I've found: When I delete one of the vector images, a circle with a gradient, the text prints out, but when I have the circle there, the text doesn't print out. The text box is not near the circle. Hoping you can help me. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Leslie,

An interesting problem!

Would you please send that file to my yahoo address?  It's amylynpace@yahoo.com

Delete any large, uninvolved graphics to reduce the file size, if you would, because Yahoo can only handle about 5 Megs (free account). Don't delete the gradient or the text box, of course =). You can rest assured that anything you send me goes no farther than my desktop, then my Recycle Bin.

In your message, tell me what kind of printer you're printing to and if you're on a Mac or PC.

Thanks!
Amy Pace

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
