Adobe Illustrator/Problem with outlines

Question
Hi Amy
I have the Illustrator 10.0 version on my PC. I used to work on Coral Draw and we had an option there to delete the outline of any object. I looked through many help topics on Illustrator but could not find a similar command. Also in Coral Draw, the two arms of any Anchor Point could be made to behave separately i.e. we could isolate one arm so that it's movement did not affect the other arm. Plase do solve my problems as I have a project on my hands.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Answer
Hi Shilpi,

I don't know what the Corel Draw command you mentioned does, exactly, but if you deleted the outline of an object in Illustrator, the object would no longer exist.  You can set its stroke to None and its fill to whatever you like and that's about as close as you can get to having no outline - having an invisible outline.

You aren't referring to toggling the document's view mode (Ctrl+Y) from Outline to Preview, are you?

Moving anchor point arms individually is easier.  Use the Direct Select tool (the white arrow) and select a point in order to view the available arms.  Then, simply hold down the ALT key when grabbing the arm you want to move.

-Good luck
Amy
