Adobe Illustrator/(R) trademark in Adobe

Question
Hi -- I am a novice at using Adobe Illustrator  I am working with a template provided by a graphics firm and I am to add the text for an ad.  I am using a PC. I need to be able to insert the (R) registered trademark symbol at 2 different places in the text, but can't figure out how to do this!  When I do this in Word, for example, it happens automatically.  Any ideas or thoughts?  I so appreciate it -- I have an ad due on the first of Oct!

Thanks.

Answer
Hi Debbie.

Simply use the alt+key combinations that work in all applications.

Place your cursor where you need to insert the symbol.

Hold down ALT and press the 0174 keys and then let go of the alt.

ALT+0169 = the Copyright symbol and there are many others.

Hope this helps!

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

Experience

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
