Adobe Illustrator/RAM Problem with Adobe Program

Question
This may be a bit out of your expertese, but I have used Photodeluxe 2.0 for years with no problems.  After a repair of the OS (XP) and the drivers (I have a HP Pavilion ze5600 series notebook), I get the message "There is not enough memory (RAM) to launch PhotoDeluxe", but I have 446 megs of RAM (and even with over 220 megs free, it still doesn't work).  I have operated Photodeluxe with 16 megs and Windows 95 in the past!  HELP!  THANKS!

Answer
Hi Kenneth,
I'm not as familiar with PC's when it comes to problems like this. With that said I know that sometimes even though you have enough RAM your program may not be set to use it.  On a Mac there is a way to check how much memory is allocated to the program in what they call "get info".  I would think PC's have something similar but I don't know for sure.  But that's what it sounds like to me.  I'll see if I can find out more from a PC guy I know.  I'll email you if I find out more.
Sorry I couldn't help more...
Thank you,

Tom

I can answer Graphics questions related to Adobe Illustrator 9, 10, and CS. I also have Photoshop experience. Setting up files for printing is my main area of expertise. I am familiar with both PC and Mac platforms. No question is too silly. The only thing silly is a question not asked!
