Adobe Illustrator/Reflect an object with text

Question
Hi Amy,

Is there a way to reflect an object that contains text without having to manually unreflect the text afterwards to make it legible?

Thanks a bunch,

Belal

Answer
Hi Belal.

I can't think of a way to do that in less than 2 steps... I've been playing around with Illustrator since I got your message and still can't find a way to do it. You're right... text shouldn't flip during a reflect, really, because you always end up with illegible product.

But then Adobe would have to deal with all the people who wanted it to flip!  =)

If I happen to come across an answer, I'll get back to you.

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
