Adobe Illustrator/Seperation Setup

QuestionQUESTION: How do you turn on to use separation setup? When we create a new document it is not highlighted to use. After we do get it so that it highlights how is it used?
ANSWER: Hi Marc,
In order to use separation set-up to print CMYK or spot color seps, you need to have a postscript printer installed and selected as your printer. You may also use Adobe PostScript® driver or AdobePDF as your "printer."
Both AdobePDF, which is part of Acrobat Pro, and Adobe PostScript® driver print to a file versus to an actual device. Adobe PostScript® driver is available at Adobe.com for free download.
SO, once the proper type of printer is installed and selected, you must choose a PPD (Postscript Printer Driver) as well.
Here's the link to Adobe's online help documentation which details how to and when to use print seps:

There are multiple pages in the link above, use the little arrows in the top right to navigate through them.
Good luck!

QUESTION: Another question: The page tool I have read from your answers already that you should click twice on the page tool and the dotted(Printable) box should fall in the center ....I have tried this but nothing happens. I can click on the page tool and then click on the tile to move it but I'd like to know how to do it automatically. Is there something I'm doing wrong that I might have missed?
AnswerHI again,
You can double click on the page tool (double click FAST) and it should zero out automatically. It will look centered as long as the print setup's paper size is the same size as the artboard.
I believe it actually picks the lower lefthand corner to position itself from.
If the printer page set up is 4" x 5", for example, and the artboard is 8.5 x 11, the page will locate itself down in the left corner.
Let me know
