Adobe Illustrator/Stroking part of a path

Question
Is there any way to just stroke a small part of a path, and not the whole path?
Or is there any way to stroke just one segment?

hi Jonathan!

Yes!  Use the scissor tool to slice the segment twice - once where you want the stroke difference to begin and once where it should end. Then select that segment with the white arrow tool and make the stroke changes you need to make! You may have to play with the stroke caps in the stroke window to get it to blend in with the rest of the path the way you want it to (round, flat, etc.)
