Adobe Illustrator - Vector graphic

Expert: Tom Rouze - 6/7/2007

Question
I inherited a logo that works well as a tiff file in word, excel, and powerpoint, however, when I place it in InDesign CS2 or upload it into Dreamweaver it is fuzzy.  Is it possible it is not a vector graphic and this is why I am having this problem?  What do you suggest?

Answer
Hi Pat,
Yes this is not vector art.  You could try bringing the file into Photoshop and cleaning it up but it's most likely low resolution to begin with.  I assume you can't get the original logo in electronic format however, if you have something printed (such as letterhead, business card, etc...) you could scan it, save it and use that.  It would work much better for you if you could.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.
Thank you,

Tom
