Adobe Illustrator/changing the shape of type

Question
I need to fill some logo type in a V shape. Typestyler used to do this quite easily. I can't seem to grab the middle points of my bounding box to pull them down to a V shape.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Mary.

I think you're talking about Warp Text Effects. If you have Illustrator CS2, you can do this using Effects>Warp.

In version 10, it's a little more complicated. Here's a good tutorial by someone knowledgeable on how to warp text in version 10.

If you have version 9 or lower, you must convert your type to outlines and manually distort it using the direct select tool.

Hope this helps???

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
