Question
A very simple question. How do I draw a triangle using Illustrator CS?
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Ricky!

That's a nice easy one.  Maybe I can even answer it before my coffee this morning.

Let's draw the top point of the triangle first.

Use the Pen tool (hit your P key) and click down on your workspace, then move your cursor down and to the right a bit and click down again.

Then holding your shift key, move your cursor to the left and click down again.

Then release your shift key and click a fourth time, this time right on top of the first point you clicked. How do you know you're hitting it? When you hover directly over the point, a little o appears next to the pen cursor. That's when you click!

Voila, triangle!

Does this help?

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
