AnswerHi Yaroslav.
I believe the answer to this "bug" in Illustrator is to reset all preferences. This doesn't work for everyone but let's hope it works for YOU!
1 - Quit AI
2 - Locate the
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings
folder and move it to your desktop
3 - Restart AI and try to work again.
The folder you just moved will be created again, in its original location. If this fixed your issue, great! You can go through the Settings folder you have just moved to the desktop and make sure you don't have anything in there you need to save, then throw the folder away. If it didn't solve the problem, you can QUIT AI again and move the Settings folder back to its original location. You can overwrite the new folder that has been created.
Another thing you may want to try is to re-create font cache files. Font cache files are basically lists created by Adobe applications that help fonts load quicker when you start the application. They can be deleted without any harm to your system.
1 - Quit AI and all other Adobe applications
2 - Locate all files matching the pattern adobefnt*.lst where * is a number and throw them away. Make sure you ONLY throw away files ending in .lst.
3 - Restart AI.
The files will re-create themselves as necessary.
If these steps don't help, let me know!
