Question
When I click on a tool in the tool bar pallette in Illustrator CS3, it won't allow me
to access the tool underneath itSuch as the rectangle tool is on top but i can't
access the elipse tool , even when I click on that small arrow on the corner of the
tool. This used to work, i am not sure what happened

Answer
Hi Joy!

This sounds like a classic preferences reset case.

1 - Quit Illustrator.
2 - Locate the AIprefs file on your machine and move it to the desktop or somewhere else. C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings is the path on my machine - yours may be different.
3 - Restart Illustrator.

This should do it. If not, you can quit Illustrator and move the AIprefs file back to where it was. If it works, just throw the original AIprefs away.

let me know!

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

Experience

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
