Adobe Illustrator/saving as two color

Question
I have a PC and am using Illustrator 10

I am stuck on how to save as a 2 color Illustrator eps file that can imported into quark for set up. How do I save properly swo it doesn't open so oddly in quark?

Answer
HI there Taysha

Why don't you send me the file and I'll take a look and set it up.

Then I'll send it back to you and you can see what I did.

Basically, you have to make sure there are only TWO colors in the file, usually black and one other spot color.

Then you have to make sure that the spot color is named EXACTLY how it is named in Quark. Capital letters in the name even make a difference.

Quark will see Pantone 130 CVC and Pantone 130 CvC as two separate colors.

Go ahead and send it to me at AmyLynPace@yahoo.com
and I'll take a look!  Let me know what the spot color is named in Quark (if you are already using that color in Quark, that is).

Thanks!
Amy

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
