Question
I am currently making a large file containing 10 A2 images so i can print it off like a banner..when saved under save as..i go 2 open it again and the images dont open, because of the links i think. how do i save it properly for print so that a printing company can open the image?

Answer
Hi Jenna,

You need to embed those images (then you don't need to send the images to the printer separately). I don't know what version you have but if you have CS2 (I think) or CS3, you can simply click on the images and click the EMBED button in the Control bar at the top of the screen.

If you have older versions, you need to click on the image, choose File>Place and choose the REPLACE option. Do not choose the LINK option.

Hope this helps! Most printers want images embedded.

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
