Adobe Illustrator/Can't open old EPS Files

Question
We have a collection of EPS files we can't open.
They were createdin Illustrator in 1997. The remainging Quark files of the job are OK and can be opened, and worked on.Either in Mac or PC format.
The original EPS files were producded on a Mac OS 8 or 9
The EPS file name is NSPostscriptPboardType

Hi Gary,

Distill the file with Acrobat Distiller, then open the resulting PDF in Illustrator.

If you're using a PC, try adding an .eps or a .pdf to the file name and placing the file in an Illustrator document.
