Is there a way to get underlined text in illustrator?

Hi Lisa,

I know in Word you can just click on the underline button.  In Illustrator what you have to do is select your pen tool, then click on a place near where you want to draw the line. After you click your first point on the line hold your shift key down and click with your mouse about the length you want.  Holding the shift key will make sure the line is perfectly straight.  If you want to change the length of the line use your arrow selection tool, select the line and drag from either side.  If you want to get a thicker or thinner line change the stroke weight. There are usually a couple different ways to do things like this but I thought this would be the easiest.  If you have any other questions or need further explaining please feel free to ask away.
