Adobe Illustrator/workspace

Question
I'm on a Mac using Illustrator 10.  How do I edit or remove the default dashed square that appoears on the workspace when a new project is opened.

Answer
Hi Joe.

I use Illustrator 9, but I don't think it's changed.

That dashed line is the printable area.
To HIDE it, go to

View > Hide Page Tiling.

Be advised that that line is your actual page outline.  It's what you will see on the printer... but if you're not working with printed materials, you don't need it!

Cheers

Expertise

I can help troubleshoot your Illustrator 9 through CS3 (and most CS4) problems and suggest the best way to get the results you need. Although I can help with some installation issues, my forte is prepress and how to use the tools and functions in the application itself.

I've been a graphic artist for over 20 years. Oh my God, 20 years.
