Question
QUESTION: Is there a way to make a "fillable form" in indesign so that it can be emailed and filled out on the computer without the lines jumping all over the place like they do in word?

ANSWER: Ashle:

Yes and No.

What you can do is create what you want the form to look in inside ID. Then export the file as a PDF. With Acrobat Professional you can create the form that can be filled out with reader.

QUESTION: that's what I thought, and that's what i've done...i guess this is more of an Adobe Pro question, because I did that and exported it, chose "make fillable form" etc. and when i try to fill it out, it still jumps all over the place. The lines don't stay where they were and my headings can be easily erased. I want all of that to be locked and unalterable. Possible? What am i doing wrong?

Answer
Yes, that is more of an acrobat question. Forms are kind of a big thing in acrobat and it is hard to give a simple answer in this type of format. I would recommend taking a class or getting a book on forms. Then you will be able to understand all of the complexities involved.
