Question
Hi and thanks in advance for any insight you can offer. I am working in InDesignCS2 (4.0.5) When I Place a Word .doc into my file it changes the arrangement...I'll upload a pdf of before and after. Any help is appreciated.

Word is not a layout tool, therefore you can not trust what you see in the word file. Also, it is best practices to place images directly in ID, not through word.
You best course of action is to recreate the layout inside ID with the copy from you word file.
