Adobe InDesign/page numbering

Question
InDesign CS3:  I have set the page numbering in a 30 page publication but can
not get the page number to show on top of a page that has an image that takes
up the whole page.  I have tried arranging the object but the page number still
does not show.

Answer
This is always an area of confusion for people so don't feel bad. You have to manually activate those page numbers in one of two ways:

(Assuming you set up your page numbers on the master page)
1. Move the image or object frame away from the page number. Click on the page number while holding SHIFT+Command(Mac) or SHIFT+Control(PC). Then arrange the page number to be on top of the image or object. (Object > Arrange > Bring to Front).

2. Copy the page number from the master page and navigate back to the page where you have the image or object where you want to have a page number on top. Then just "paste in place" (Edit > Paste in Place).

Glad to help!
