Subject: Creating a Newsletter for Print and the Web
Question Hi Jan, I would appreciate your input in this question.
I'm starting a newsletter with a friend of mine for business purposes. We both want to create a newsletter for Print and Web. We do not want to design one for Print and then another one for the Web. My question is: Does Indesign allow you to turn your print publication into a Web friendly newsletter? or do you recommend a program that would do something like this?
Thank you in advance
Alex
Answer InDesign CS3 lets you create Web pages from your layouts, for use in Web editors such as Adobe Dreamweaver and Bare Bones SOftware's BBEdit. The eported files will not be replicas of your layout but XHTML-format pages that contain links to the source imgaes (converted for you during export) and to the CSS file that defines the text appearance (style names in your document are converted to CSS names, but the formatting itself is not exported).
Although InDesign CS and CS2 do not let you create Web pages directly, you can export InDesign documents to XML format for use in Adobe GoLive.
