Expert: James Fritz Date: 4/2/2008 Subject: InDesign
Question I am on InDesign 2.02. When I try to open other peoples In Design 2
documents I get a "Cannot Open File" dialog box from the InDesign content
manager that says: Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions or
upgrade to the latest version of Adobe InDesign. I don't think I can do the
later cause I don't think I have enough space on my G4 to run CS.I have no
idea what it means to up-grade my plug-ins. Got any ideas?

Answer Lev,
You will have to upgrade InDesign if you want to open their files. I have a feeling that the files you are trying to open are not ID 2 files, but actuall ID CS2 (which is really ID4). If you are getting warnings about missing plugins that usually means you have an older version of ID. I would reccomend purchasing ID CS3 which is 3 versions newer than what you are currently using. This will solve your problems with other peoples files.
