Question
Help - Just got In Design.  All document sizes are given in "p" as are all margin sizes - what pray tell does this mean.  Thank you.

Answer
Picas. It's an old typesetting term from when all printing was done with lead type. It's a really beautiful measurement system if you're a typographer or a graphic designer. If you prefer inches, look in the Preferences to make the switch.

12 points = 1 pica
6 picas = 1 inch
also, 72 points = 1 inch
