Subject: Line Screening in Indesign

Question
I work at a print shop as a graphic designer and have a project that requires a line screen of 85 in one area. I have never ran into line screens before and have previously only done work as an artist, not as a printer. I have no idea how to set this project to make this one area a 85 line screen. I read about making the whole project a bitmapped project in photoshop by converting to greyscale, then to bitmap, but I was wondering if there is anyway to convert one area in InDesign or to even output line screens in InDesign. Any help would be much appreciated. I am running InDesign CS3 on a PC.

Answer
Jeremy,

You change the linescreen in the print settings dialog box. Go to file print, and choose the output option on the left hand side. If you choose to print separations you will be able to choose the lpi. I believe this is what you are looking for. Other that this, I am not familiar as to where or how to seen the line screen setting.
