| Comment | All really good advice, thanks. The problem is that I've only had limited dealings with the print broker; only design work that I've helped him with. This would be my first time involved in a deal where he's printing the work. I always have my own work printed myself as I'm a part time free lance graphic designer. I don't have a boss to report to - part of the reason I'm reaching out for help. I send my press ready PDF files to the printer I work with on a regular basis; no raw files necessary in all these years and this is the main reason for my concern and question regarding the necessity of hundreds of files to print 20 small jobs. My printer simply gives me a call to address any questionable areas before proceeding with printing and this system works very well for us. To top it all off, proofs are being purchased/generated by the printer prior to the printing that I will be in large part responsible for proofing. Having said all this, I still think it's a bit suspicious that the print broker requires all the files when I'm only five minutes by car and a phone call away. Any further thoughts? Either way I really appreciate your input. Thanks again... | ||

I have been working in Graphic Design and Advertising since '02. (and in Indesign since '01 when it was PageMaker) I will do my best to answer your question.
