Adobe InDesign/placing Illustrator files into Indesign

Question
I need to place Illustrator file into Indesign. i am using AI CS3 and Indesign CS2.  I have saved the .ai files as a AICS2. When i place them into ID nothing happens, just a blank square appears.  Ihave then  saved the AI files as an .eps file.  When i place them into AI i get an extreemly pixelated image (even though i have saved them as high resolution).  How do i correct this.  Also is there any way of keeping text 'live' in a .ai doc once placed into Indesign??

Answer
Cleo,

Select the image that is not showing up correctly in ID with the black arrow and go to the object menu > Display Performance > High Quality. Now the images should show up correctly.

You can copy and paste Text from Illustrator to ID, but you can not really link text. You could have some text in IL and then save everything as a .ai file, but it would be just a picture of text.
